Tristan Bejawn | Portraits one year on

… To Russ

In the year since we last spoke, I've seen photography in an entirely new light. This new approach to portraiture has allowed me to shoot slower and more deliberately - and I have a totally renewed love for portraits that I've not felt since I first picked up the camera many years ago. I switched to medium format, and simplified my process. I work with what light I can, and focus on the relationship with the sitter. I try now not to pose them, but do everything to capture them as they are - I pursue honesty.  I wanted to show you a small sample of work that encapsulates the direction that I am heading in. It would be amazing to hear your thoughts, as I would love to join your roster of photographers. I have huge respect for the work you produce, so any words you have are deeply valued.
